The HI3873-100 are replacement reagents for the colorimetric determination of nitrite (as NO2--N) with the HI3873 Nitrite Test Kit. There are enough reagents for approximately 100 tests to be used with Hanna’s test kit. These high quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each packet for traceability.

The HI3873-100 are high quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate nitrite measurements with the chemical test kit. These reagents follow the chromotropic acid method to determine nitrite concentration as nitrite-nitrogen (NO2--N).
For determination of nitrite, the chromotropic acid reagent reacts with the nitrite present in the sample causing an orange colored complex to form; the greater the concentration, the deeper the color. A color comparator cube is included for an accurate, side-by-side, visual analysis to determine nitrite concentration. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected nitrite range of 0.0 to 1.0 mg/L (ppm) NO2--N.
